DANCer Wellness
My passion and love for dance and dancers was my initial motivation to pursue and enter the nutrition & dietetics profession. The physical toll that accompanies careers in dance parallel those of other elite athletes.
The dancer population is often underserved in terms of nutrition advice, and in many cases are undernourished to the end goal of fitting an idealized body aesthetic. Nutrition can be leveraged to not only fuel consistent high-level performance, but also in the healing process following injury.
I have given talks and workshops on Nutrition for Dancers at American Dance Festival at Duke University, Inlet Dance Theatre, University of North Carolina Greensboro, Anderson University, and Case Western Reserve University.
